Before I learned about herbal medicine, I had this notion that you had to go way out in the woods or into some special, untouched place in Nature to find medicinal plants. While there are some plants like that, most of our medicinal plants grow all around us. You walk by them every day. You know many of them by sight and name but don’t realize their medicinal abilities. So this morning, I decided to take a picture of all the medicinal plants I saw on my walk to work. This is about a 1.25 mile walk through some woods, a field, a few creeks, and along a few streets. I made no attempt to go off my normal path. I snapped these pictures on the go. Some of them are not great quality because of that but I did need to get to work on time. Look through all the different plants below.
If you are interested in learning more about our local plants, please let me know. I had to stop doing the herb walks due to poor attendance. I would love to do them again but need people who are interested in coming.
